Inspiring Young Minds: Dr. Cadavious Jones Mentors Camden Chapman at B.E.S.T. Robotics Practice Session

During Alabama State University's B.E.S.T. Robotics Competition practice session at Montgomery's Eastdale Mall on Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021, Dr. Cadavious Jones, director of the competition, took time to mentor 9-year-old Camden Chapman. Their connection began when Chapman first encountered robotics at ASU's Skycap Summer Camp, where Dr. Jones noticed his enthusiasm and invited him to observe the competition.

Chapman, eager to explore the world of robotics, dreams of joining a high school robotics team in the future. Dr. Jones, known for his dedication to inspiring young learners in STEM, provided guidance and encouragement to Chapman during the practice session.

Chapman shared his excitement, "I'm learning a lot about robots, and I hope to build my own one day."

Dr. Jones, recognizing the importance of nurturing young talent in STEM fields, emphasized the significance of early exposure to robotics and technology. "It's inspiring to see Camden's curiosity and enthusiasm," Dr. Jones remarked. "He represents the future of innovation in robotics."

The practice session not only allowed Chapman to witness firsthand the complexities of robotics but also encouraged him to pursue his passion for technology. As Chapman continues to explore his interest in robotics, Dr. Cadavious Jones remains committed to fostering a supportive environment for aspiring young engineers like him.
