Dr. Cadavious Jones, a distinguished Associate Professor in Mathematics, has recently been awarded a subaward funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) through Savannah State University (SSU). This significant funding supports a pilot project titled "Combating Vaccine-Hesitant Behaviors in Communities of Color through Public Health Awareness and Training in Disease Modeling." Dr. Jones will serve as the Principal Investigator for this subaward, playing a pivotal role in this groundbreaking initiative.

The primary objective of the study is to address vaccine hesitancy in communities of color by implementing an intensive, sustained training model approach. This high-touch methodology will be deployed across multiple Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to generate new knowledge on the outcomes and benefits of such an approach. The project's innovative framework aims to create a deeper understanding and acceptance of vaccines within these communities, ultimately contributing to better public health outcomes.
Dr. Jones' leadership in this initiative underscores his commitment to addressing critical public health issues and enhancing research capabilities at HBCUs. Through this project, he continues to demonstrate his dedication to community engagement, advancing public health, and promoting academic excellence.
