Dr. Cadavious Jones, Dean of Science & Mathematics at Rust College, has secured significant funding from Nissan to support the college's cybersecurity initiative. Nissan's recent donation of $250,000 marks a continuation of their longstanding commitment to Mississippi's Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), bringing their total support to Rust College to $2.5 million over the span of ten years.

This funding will enable Rust College to establish the Nissan-RC Cybersecurity Simulation Lab, a critical resource aimed at enhancing students' cybersecurity skills. Dr. Jones expressed gratitude for Nissan's ongoing support, highlighting the initiative's importance in preparing students for careers in cybersecurity.
"This partnership with Nissan is instrumental in expanding Rust College's educational offerings and equipping our students with the skills necessary to succeed in cybersecurity," said Dr. Jones. "The Cybersecurity Simulation Lab will not only benefit our students directly but also contribute to Nissan's broader efforts in advancing technological education and strengthening our local community."
Nissan's investment in Rust College is part of a broader commitment to supporting Mississippi HBCUs through various educational and technological initiatives, including robotics programs and STEM workshops. These efforts are pivotal in cultivating a talented workforce and promoting economic growth across the state.
