Dr. Cadavious M. Jones, a distinguished mathematician and educator, has been named the Director of Outreach for Mathematical Puzzle Programs (MaPP). MaPP is a collective of mathematicians and puzzle enthusiasts dedicated to engaging young people in mathematical problem-solving through puzzle events across the United States and internationally.

Dr. Jones, who earned his BS and MS from Alabama State University and his PhD in Mathematics from Auburn University, brings a wealth of experience and passion to this role. His career is marked by a deep commitment to STEM outreach, mentoring high school students, and promoting mathematics and statistics awareness.
In his new role, Dr. Jones will lead efforts to expand MaPP’s reach and impact, organizing puzzle hunts and events that inspire young minds to explore the world of mathematics. MaPP’s flagship event, the MaPP Challenge, has already gained recognition for its engaging and educational format. Dr. Jones's involvement will further enhance these programs, ensuring they continue to captivate and educate students.
Dr. Jones's extensive background includes contributions to the Australian Maths Trust, membership in the MASAMU international research group, and leadership roles in various STEM initiatives. He serves as Chair of the MGM BEST Hub committee and Director of the MGM BEST Robotics Competition, and holds advisory and editorial positions in several prestigious organizations.
Dr. Jones’s dedication to promoting greater diversity in STEM fields is evident in his ongoing participation in global math camps and outreach activities that connect students from the United States, Australia, Wales, Japan, and Africa. His enthusiasm for working with young minds, whether in the American Black Belt or the Australian Outback, underscores his commitment to making a lasting impact on the next generation of STEM leaders.
