Under the leadership of Dr. Cadavious Jones, Dean of the Division of Science and Mathematics, Rust College has been recognized by the Biden-Harris Administration for two impactful grant projects. The latest recognition came on September 16, 2024, during President Biden’s remarks at the National HBCU Week Conference in Philadelphia, PA. This project focuses on increasing the participation of underrepresented minority female students in STEM through research opportunities, faculty development, and a student-centered instructional model.
Earlier, on May 14, 2024, Rust College was acknowledged in another press briefing, where the Biden-Harris Administration awarded nearly $600,000 to address infrastructure needs. Dr. Jones and the Rust College faculty are working on a joint project aimed at identifying systemic barriers to Agri-STEM education, building on the innovative work already being led by Dr. Jones.
